2015: The clean production and overall result figures are not representing the full picture for the company as significant volume of market pulp information is missing. See context information.

SPOTLIGHT

Between the EPCI 2015 and 2017:
SCA Graphic (LWC and UCO) notably increased the use of FSC certified fibres.

WWF values high recycled fibre levels in tissue products which is reflected in the scoring method.
Use of recycled fibres for paper products plays an important role in resource efficiency, particularly for short-lived and end of life-cycle products such as tissue.

WWF encourages SCA  to continue to demonstrate commitment to long-term sustainability in its virgin fibre use by working with FSC and other stakeholders towards solutions-oriented discussions.

“SCA thank WWF for running this survey tool again, we find it progressive and useful as both an industry measure and company measure.” - SCA

CONTEXT INFORMATION

The information in this report reflects SCA as a global company that continues to expand through acquisition and new mills. Data is from own input figures and site emissions figures. The results include the impact on emissions as a result of the use of market pulp, but does not include the emissions from the market pulp mills themselves. SCA has taken this approach in order to measure the impact of its global business in areas it controls, thereby measuring continual improvement. SCA produces graphic paper, tissue, market pulp, container board, publication paper.
