SPOTLIGHT

Between the EPCI 2015 and 2017 Metsä Tissue notably decreased waste to landfill.

WWF values high recycled fibre levels in tissue products which is reflected in the scoring method. Use of recycled fibres for short-lived and end of life-cycle products such as tissue plays an important role in resource efficiency.

“At Metsä Group, sustainability is an essential part in each step of the value chain – from the sustainably managed forests to end-users. We are happy to further present the positive progress in the Index, that is also appreciated by our customers and other stakeholders.” - Päivi Makkonen, Sustainability Director, Metsä Group

CONTEXT INFORMATION

Metsä Group produces tissue, packaging and pulp.
