The clean production and overall result figures are not representing the full picture for the company as significant volume of market pulp information is missing.

“WWF-EPCI is a good platform which will enable buyers and consumers to assess the progress made by pulp and paper companies in their sustainability journey. It fits well with ITC's Triple Bottomline Approach.” - ITC

CONTEXT INFORMATION

In the Indian pulp and paper industry power requirements are met both through internal generation and are bought from government sources. The principal fuel for government sources is coal. As the nature of supply and sometimes the quantum is inadequate the industry depends on own generation of power. ITC's paper business is self sufficient in power and nearly 45% is met from renewable sources such as biomass and wind. ITC produces graphic paper, packaging and specialty paper.
